| The Evaluator
is the magazine of the UK Evaluation Society. It is produced primarily for UKES
members, informing them about evaluation activities around the country, of developments
in practice and giving them a place to discuss issues of common interest. The
Evaluator is edited by an editorial board, currently with two members, Sarah Batterbury
and Lindsey Poole. The editorial board have ultimate control over the content
of the magazine and as such the views in the evaluator do not necessarily represent
the views of the UKES. The
Evaluator has recently been upgraded in terms of content and production values
and the editorial panel seek sponsorship and advertising in order to support and
sustain these changes. The

This
can include sponship of a whole edition (in which case sponsorship would appear
on front page and throughout the magazine), a section of the magazine (e.g. the
book reviews or interviews with prominent evaluators) when sponsorship would be
linked to this item and acknowledged in the contents etc; A cartoon (e.g.positioning
the name of your organisation in the cartoon). Other suggestions will be considered. Book
Reviews
The
evaluator also includes book reviews. For example, the Summer 2004 edition of
the evaluator has the theme of the Evaluation of Learning and the Chartered Institute
of Personal Development have given us some of their publications to be included
in this section. Circulation
The
is circulated to about 250 people, all of whom have had contact with UKES and
therefore have shown a strong interest in evaluation. We estimate that the readership
is probably double this. However, we also will be using the evaluator as promotional
material for UKES, sending it out on membership drives, distributing it at conferences
etc. You could therefore expect a much higher coverage than the initial circulation. We
aim to publish three editions each year, one in the Spring, one in the Summer
and one in the Autumn. The Autumn edition promotes the UKES Conference in December.
