President’s Webinar & AGM 2020

President of the UK Evaluation Society Dr Tim Chadborn discusses his experience of innovation and creating impact in multidisciplinary practice and evaluation, and this is followed by the Society’s 2020 Annual General Meeting

Multidisciplinary practice and evaluation in government – how to create impact?

Tim will share reflections on co-authoring the new Magenta Book and how that has provided perspective on his experiences in health and behavioural science and experimental, quasi-experimental and theory-based approaches.

Drawing on his experience of evaluation of behavioural insights interventions in government, he will invite discussion on innovation across the parallel worlds of evaluation and behavioural science, digital/design, and systems thinking/complexity science. This wouldn’t be complete without a mention of COVID19…

Dr Tim Chadborn has a dual role as Head of Behavioural Insights and Evaluation Lead for Public Health England and Expert Advisor to the Cabinet Office Systems Unit. Tim sits on the Cross Government Evaluation Group (CGEG), the Cross-Government Behavioural Insights Network and the Cabinet Office Trials Advice Panel. He publishes when he can.

With about 25 years of experience, Tim has previously worked in the UK with the Department of Health and Health Protection Agency and internationally in a partnership between Harvard University and the Ministry of Health in Botswana and with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He has been President of the UK Evaluation Society since January 2020.
