The UK Evaluation Society

New Executive Director

The UK Evaluation Society is thrilled to announce that we have appointed a new Executive Director.

Please join us in welcoming Nick Posford to the helm and we look forward to seeing where the society will go in the coming years.

Nick Posford

UK Evaluation Society Executive Director

Nick Posford comes to the UK Evaluation Society with a background of leadership in national charities. Most recently, Head of Business Development at Family Lives, Nick was previously CEO at the British Dyslexia Association, CICRA (Charity for Children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and Kingston University Students’ Union. Nick arrives with a passion for raising the profile of evaluation across the public, charity, and private sectors.

At Family Lives, Nick led on tenders to national and local government, where evaluation was crucial in proving the impact of the charity’s work supporting families in very difficult circumstances.

At the British Dyslexia Association, alongside significant improvements to the organisation’s marketing and communications, Nick developed positive relationships with policymakers across all three main political parties leading to a higher profile for dyslexia.

At CICRA, Nick developed a family support service, created a programme on increasing confidence in children with bowel disease, and helped develop new standards for their care across the UK.

Nick has been a lay member of NHS England’s Clinical Reference Group for Paediatric Medicine Specialised Commissioning, where he ensured patient and public views helped define the standards of care expected across a range of health conditions. He has also been a trustee of a local Citizens Advice and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). Nick started his professional career as a Policy Manager for a top tier local authority, where he led a major service transformation.

Nick has worked across the voluntary, public, and private sectors for two decades, with extensive experience of partnership working, income growth and service development to broaden an organisation’s reach and deepen its connection with members.

We also thank Judy Roberts for her time, care, and support of the Society as our Interim Executive Director.
